MUSIQ SOULCHILD FT. CHRISETTE MICHELE – AH YEAH

Robert Glasper Experiment has kicked off 2012 with the release of the new single “Ah Yeah” through all digital retailers. The track which features Musiq Soulchild and Chrisette Michele on vocals is the lead single from Glasper’s highly-anticipated forthcoming album Black Radio, which will be released by Blue Note Records on February 28.

KARYN WHITE – SISTA SISTA

It’s been nearly 18 years since Karyn White released her third album, Make Him Do Right, marking the start of what would be an extended break from music to focus on family—namely raising daughter, Ashley (her child with her ex- husband, famed producer/songwriter Terry Lewis). But in late 2011 she resurfaced with, “Sista, Sista,” setting the stage for her upcoming fourth studio album, Carpe Diem.

Now things have been turned up a notch, with the release of the video, which serves as a PSA for women to support and empower each other.


CONYA DOSS – DON’T CHANGE

Conya Doss follows up her fifth album ‘Blu Transition’ with a new single entitled “Don’t Change” from her upcoming release ‘A Pocketful of Purpose.’
The song gives insight and inspiration on accepting the greatness of your personality. If somebody enjoys your company they will not ask you to become a different person other than yourself.
People should take notes on Doss’ lyrics, “Don’t ever change just who you are/Don’t change for me or anyone/I love you just the way you’re.”


ESPERANZA SPALING – BLACK GOLD

2011 Best New Artist Grammy winner, Esperanza Spalding is making her return, and has just released the first single from her new album, Radio Music Society. The jazz bassist and singer mines for some sweet soul on the lush new tune titled “Black Gold.” Esperanza is also joined by neo-soul singer Algebra on the vocals. A video is on the way, expected to premiere on BET’s 106 & Park, and the forthcoming album is slated for release on March 20th.


JOHN LEGEND FEAT LUDACRIS – TONIGHT (BEST YOU EVER HAD)

John Legend delivers his brand new single “Tonight (Best You Ever Had).” The Phatboi production featuring Ludacris, will be included on the soundtrack to the new movie Think Like A Man, and as John said, is intended to be the first single from his anticipated fourth album, unless fans hate it. Sounds nice to us… Take a listen to the smooth single below.


VAUGHN ANTHONY FT. JOHN LEGEND – HOLD ME DOWN

John Legend’s baby bother, Vaughn Anthony is slowly giving us more and more and it looks like it’s building up to his debut in May. After a lengthy list of opening acts and singing with hit-makers, his own album is finally in the works. The self-titled debut will feature Anthony’s newest single, “Hold Me Down,” which features John Legend for a duet. But since we’re barely out of January, Anthonys preparing his latest project, “Life of a Player,” a mixtape featuring collaborations with the likes of Rick Ross, Olivia, and Prodigy coming in March.

Those sisters with the voices are coming back and very soon! With their new album entitled “I Missed Us,” it’s apparent that they missed singing just as much as we’ve missed singing along. “It’s a great feeling to be back recording together again! Something special always happens when we come together.” The 90s girl group is back in the studio working with heavy-hitting producers like, Lamb, Brian M. Cox, and Jazze Pha to make the album a keeper! With a long track record for hits, this album is definitely high on our radars. “I Missed Us” is set to hit stores on April 10, 2012!

KAYLA BRIANNA – IF YOU LOVE ME

Check out the video premiere of up and coming young singer, Kayla Brianna’s debut single “If You Love Me.” Kayla, the daughter of basketball legend and NBA commentator Kenny Smith, hopes that her music will speak to young girls around the world who are transitioning to adulthood. “It’s about growing up, succeeding, experiencing heartbreak and self-identity simultaneously,” says Kayla. “When you add those messages to undeniable tracks, it becomes a message that you can move to!”
