AUGUST ALBUM REVIEWS

Summer’s in full swing and with the London Olympics & weather that can’t make it’s mind up comes a new release from one of the hottest singers in R&B these days. Trey Songz drops his fifth album — which is fittingly titled Chapter V this month and he’s not alone in the new releases department. Among the other artists with new music headed our way are Tamia, who’s putting out her first album in over six years. Detroit-based R&B/Soul crooner Dwele and Elle Varner and former “American Idol” hopeful Michael “Big Mike” Lynche, both of whom have debut albums dropping this month. TREY SONGZ – CHAPTER V

As the title implies, Chapter V is the fifth studio album by Trey Songz. It’s due out Aug. 21 via Atlantic Records.

Brooklyn Sessions is the follow-up EP to Irish R&B/Soul singer Laura Izibor’s 2009 debut album Let the Truth Be Told. It was recorded at Electrik Indigo Studios in Brooklyn, NY, over three days with her touring band, and will be released Aug. 7 via Atlantic Records.
