SOCA CD’s

Soca originated in the islands of Trinidad and Tobago. The reputed father of Soca was Lord Shorty (born Garfield Blackman) in Trinidad, whose 1973 recording of “Indrani” started the Soca trend..  In the 1970s he began writing calypso songs for other young calypsonians including Maestro and his cousin Baron..  It would be Lord Kitchener  who would begin the noticeable and accredited transitions, which was developed as soul of calypso (soca).

I have to give credit to Soca Princess Ms Tiney Winey for supplying me with most of the tunes for me to put in the mix on these cd’s.. Catch her radio show on supremefm.com every Tuesday’s 9 – 11pm..   Big hits from Bunji Garlin, Skinny Fabulous, Alison Hinds, Mr Slaughter, Problem Child and many many more..
