60′s & 70′s FUNK CD’s

Funk is a music genre that originated in the mid-late 1960′s when African American musicians blended soul music , Jazz and R&B into a rhythmic, danceable new form of music. Like much African-inspired music, funk typically consists of a complex groove with rhythm instruments such as electric guitar, electric bass, Hammond organ, and drums playing interlocking rhythms. Funk bands often have a horn section of several saxpphones, trumpets, and in some cases, a trombone, which plays rhythmic “hits”. These cd’s bring to you Funk from the BIG players like James Brown, Fred Wesley & The JB’s, Gwen McCrae, Lyn Collins, Maceo Parker and much much more.
